A pavement preservation job is being planned for South Bound I-17 from Milepost 245 to Milepost 249.5.

ADOT is studying this corridor for possible additional lanes and/or alternate routes.

For the Week of November 10:

Project Description:

ADOT will begin an improvement project at the I-17 and McGuireville. The following are planned improvements:

• Widening northbound between Mile Posts 292.93 and 293.62
• Widening southbound between Mile Posts 292.93 and 293.62
• Widen Dry Beaver Creek bridges
• Replace bridge decks
• Extend the existing entrance and exit ramps
• Construct retaining walls
• Mill and repave the roadway
• Replace guardrails, signing, lighting, and pavement markers

Concrete Barriers in Place

Traffic will begin to see crews placing concrete barriers between the northbound on-ramp at McGuireville and just north of Dry Beaver Creek Bridge. Barriers provide crews a safe work zone on the shoulder of the roadway to begin work. Crews will begin to clear brush just off the northbound on ramp. Be aware that the acceleration ramp will be shortened due to the concrete barriers. Use extra caution when merging onto I-17.

Bridge Foundations Underway

Crews will begin to drill foundations near Beaver Creek to support the planned bridge widening. This work is not expected to affect or restrict traffic on I-17.
